Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino has worked diligently on behalf of 826 Valencia in San Francisco and was appointed in 2006 by First Lady Karen Baldacci as the Ambassador to Maine Reads.  She has held thousands of story times across >the country.  She and her husband Peter also own the Maine Cookie Company and have handmade and donated over 70,000 cookies to kids since 2002 in connection with their passion, children's literacy.  Each story time Elizabeth holds, usually comes complete with a cookie.
