The Comfort Zone and Yankee Go Home are designed to raise awareness of bullying and harassment prevention in any school-age childcare programs, schools and classrooms. The book provides the knowledge and practical advice necessary to incorporate steps and measures to create a safe and bully free COMFORT ZONE while the workbook and interactive play allows a setting where children can learn and openly discuss sensitive issues whether they are the victim, bystander or bully through drama and art based activities. With the guidance of watchful adults, students can talk about solutions, role play and express their feelings in a safe and non threatening environment.
What the Experts are saying about The Comfort Zone
“The Comfort Zone offers a well-organized and easy-to-follow roadmap through the multitude of possible avenues which lead to the creation of an effective, ‘bully-free’ and positive environment for school after-care programs. This book combines carefully chosen didactic material important for school administrators, after-school program directors, counselors and teachers. It’s a one-stop information guide regarding this highly important and timely topic.
Fables and stories have been a time-honored method for reaching children’s imaginations with their ability to allow fantasy, creativity, feelings, thought and change. Deb Landry, author of Yankee Go Home, understands that the most valuable method of effecting behavioral change and creating positive values in children lies in the combination of intellectual material, outward dramatic expression and lots of fun! Yankee Go Home offers children a superb message in an organized dramatic experience. It’s a must for after-school curriculum, classroom teachers, community programs and parents!”
