Press Release: March 17, 2006 State Represenative Linda M. Valentino of Saco presented Legislative Sentiments to Drew Landry and Katie Moskowitz at a book signing ceremony held at the Dyer Library in Saco March 14, 2006 for the newly released book "Sticks, Stones, and Stumped" written by local author Deb Landry. During hearings for proposed anti-bully legislation, Drew Landry and Katie Moskowitz, both students at Saco Middle School, testified before the Joint Standing Committee of Education and Cultural affairs in support of amending the Student Code of Conduct in schools throughout Maine. In the Sentiments, the Legislature praised Landry and Moskowitz for "their courageous decision to become vocal spokespersons for students who have had to endure the taunts and threats of school bullies". The children's book deals with the subject of school bullying which was addressed in a bill that was passed by the Maine Legislature. Pictured: Katie Moskowitz, State Rep.
